We provide a day care service at St Martins Care Home for the elderly community who need our services for a range of reasons including loneliness, immobility and/or a range of more complex conditions such as early stage dementia.
Our day care service enables clients to:
- Remain independent for as long as possible in their homes, secure in the knowledge that they can stay with us should they need to.
- Spend the day in a holistic day care environment that complements their life at home, respecting their individual rights, temperaments, personalities and behaviours.
- Get regular physical and mental stimulation through the provision of beneficial activities appropriate to their needs with others who are in a similar stage of life.
- Experience home-away-from-home care from 9-4 in a safe, secure and comfortable environment.
The day care service is open 5 days a week, 52 weeks a year. We have a maximum capacity of 8 service users, supervised by up to 2 members of staff.

Day care facilities
- Our day care clients will have access to a range of activities provided at the home, including exercise programmes, pampering sessions, games, arts and crafts, music and entertainment and reminiscence therapy.
- For an additional charge, a chiropodist and hairdresser are available.
- There is an extensive, award-winning garden at the rear of the property which has been specifically designed for those living with dementia.
- Regular refreshments are provided, including snacks throughout the day.
- Lunch consists of a two-course meal with several choices. Dietary and religious requirements and personal choice can be catered for.
- Day care clients can take a cold nutritious supper home with them to eat later in the evening.
Day care hours
The service is available Monday to Friday from 9-4pm, with users able to book a morning (9-1pm), afternoon (1-4pm) or all day (9-4pm) session. Booking is by telephone only. If you are interested please call us on 01702 475891.
